On New Balance

I buy a new pair of shoes on average just over every 12 months.

New shoes

It’s always a delight to put my feet into a new home. The old shoes look so broken and tired and exhausted by the time they are finished. But wouldn’t it be cool if they stored up all they had seen and heard and all the places they had walked. These old boys have traveled Canada and America and drank beer in Berlin and just this week, heard outrageous things be said in London. They also preached in old pulpits in noble churches and from behind plastic music stands in a draughty extension in Wicklow.

They stink now though. So maybe in retrospect the last year totally sucks.

Your Correspondent, Always walks a mile in someone’s shoes before criticising them; that way, he is a mile away and has their shoes.
